We would like to ask you for your support in sending letters to your Senators in support of Medicare Part B legislation, which has been introduced in both the House and the Senate. We are asking the Senate to include the COMBAT Act (Senate Bill 2875) in the opioid package. Unfortunately, the current language regarding Medicare OTP coverage in the HEAL Act (S. 3120), doesn’t go far enough to ensure that all beneficiaries access to evidence-based opioid treatment programs.

The letter of support and Outreach Toolkit, where you can access additional information about these bills, were developed by the Advocates for Opioid Recovery (AOR). First, click HERE  to contact your legislators.

This legislation, both in the House and the Senate, are the critical links to providing a Medicare benefit so that Medicare beneficiaries can seek access to treatment in opioid treatment programs. It is remarkable that after 60 years of the use of medications in OTPs, that we are finally are at the brink of getting access to such a Medicare benefit for our patients.

Thank you for helping with us with this critical matter!
